Behind the scenes, Sabian finally met Miro, who brutally knocked him down and slammed his arm against a door in breathtaking punishment for Superbad, without reacting to his attempts to reach him. Miro hugged his fallen co-worker to end the nook.

For the fifth year in a row Darby Allin defended his TNT championship, this time in the main event against Pres10 Vance from Dark Order. Vance dedicated his performance to the memory of mentor Brodie Lee and wanted to pay off all the excitement about his potential with the first monumental victory of his young career.

Vance used his strength to shake Allin’s soaring arsenal off before the night’s final break.

Allin continued to focus on Vance’s left arm, which turned out to be the only weak point in the masked man’s arsenal. He pulled on it to create a breakup and deliver a stunner, then put on a Fujiwara arm bar as he went for a submission victory.

Vance struggled on the ropes to force the break, but the challenger quickly fell victim to a top rope dive by Allin. When Dark Order’s Stu Grayson and Evil Uno checked on their teammates, Sting threw himself in to ensure a fair fight.

When the referee was distracted, Ethan Page came out of nowhere to punch Allin’s face in the ring post. Back inside, Vance delivered a wheelbarrow to the German suplex to count just under two. Moments later he used the full Nelson, only Allin used his momentum against him and scored both the win and his ninth successful title defense.

After the match, Vance respectfully helped Allin, and the champion raised the black Brodie armband in honor of the deceased competitor. After Dark Order left the arena, Page and Scorpio attacked Sky Allin and Sting.

Sky put a heel hook on The Icon while Page forced Allin to watch. Lance Archer and Vance hit the ring to chase off the heels.

The old Bret Hart finish, in which the baby face turns a template into a roll-up, never gets old. Allin did it perfectly in his win over Vance, who really doesn’t lose anything if he loses, as it’s very easy to say it was a chance loss.

Vance looked fine in his last big match in the AEW but is still a step or three behind the more experienced members of the squad. He gets there however and is only best served when he works with the likes of Allin, Page, Sky, Archer and even shares the screen with Sting.

The burgeoning feud between Sky and Page against what appears to be every other Babyface in the TNT cover picture is interesting in that we’re not sure why they’re working together or what the endgame is, but it’s definitely fascinating.

Is Sky or Page selfless enough to give up a title chance for the other in order to be successful? Probably not, but the idea of one of the two men facing Allin in a high profile match is definitely appealing. There is also a tag team match against Allin and Sting.
