Andrew Neil has a new podcast, on the platform Tortoise, and inevitably it is already making news. Last week he interviewed Charles Moore, the official biographer of Margaret Thatcher, and, perhaps surprisingly, the conversation turned distinctly frosty. Largely because Neil — proud son of Glasgow, former editor of The Sunday Times and BBC presenter — portrayed Moore as an embodiment of “the elite”. Indeed he described his guest as being “at the apex of the establishment”. In one way this is not a hard case to argue.
