A Brentwood, Essex nursing home was filled with enthusiasm when it put on a classic car show in its parking lot.
The residents of the Leonard Lodge Nursing Home were pleasantly surprised to see cars like an Austin 12/4 Clifton Tourer in their parking lot in 1924 when the South Eastern Vintage and Classic Car Vehicle Club paid a visit.
Mihaela, General Manager of the Leonard Lodge Nursing Home, said: “Our residents really enjoyed the event. Excursions in our minibus.
“We’re always on the lookout for new activities for residents and we’ve seen the fun and fantastic memory benefits that classic cars can have for people.”
Rhoda, 91, who lives in the house, said, “It was a lovely experience looking around all the different cars and how it took me back to my childhood.
“I was amazed at how well the auto club kept them clean and shiny.”
The Leonard Lodge nursing home is operated by Barchester Healthcare. It offers inpatient care, nursing and dementia care for up to 60 residents from short-term care to long-term stays.
