“Roller coaster ride”: Auto shows return after a difficult 18 months

Motor Show Events return to the Motor Show with their Festival of Wheels event this weekend (July 31st – August 1st) in Ipswich. This will be their first real auto show since before the pandemic and their first show in any capacity since Bonfire Night last November.

“The audience and our supporters were great and managed to pull us through.

“It’s the sheer amount of fan support we’ve got through the skin of our teeth.”

Their upcoming event, the Festival of Wheels 2021, will feature thousands of cars, from British vintage classics to supercars worth millions.

The event features vehicles of all shapes and sizes, with a special low-rider display, motorcycle stunts and monster trucks.

Participants even have the opportunity to drive in an American big rig truck.

The event takes place over an area of 360 hectares to ensure that everyone has enough space to be comfortable.

Mr Martin made sure the fear of social distancing was alleviated by saying that “99 percent” of the event was outdoors and masks are encouraged when people go inside.

He said, “I think we’ll get back on our feet pretty quickly and we’ve been very proud and very passionate about what we’re doing and I think we can put on a great show this weekend.

“But the main thing is, I think we will return good luck to people and hopefully we can have this lovely family weekend to give everyone something to look forward to.”

Now that almost all Covid restrictions have been relaxed, car lovers can finally get back to what they love.

Events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Great Britain and the Goodwood Festival of Speed have been held in recent weeks, each with tens of thousands of spectators.

The auto show industry is slowly bouncing back and it is hoped that more companies will bounce back this summer after a tough 18 months.

Motor show events get back into the action immediately, with more events planned for September and November.

The Festival of Wheels takes place at Trinity Park in Ipswich this weekend on July 31st and August 1st.
