Tesla electric vehicle chargers disguised as old-fashioned gas pumps

An electric vehicle charger was photographed in the US state of Pennsylvania, the design of which takes a giant leap into the past.

Installed near the “Inside Scoop”, an ice cream parlor in Coopersburg, the retro-style EV charger has the look of an old-fashioned gas pump when the internal combustion engine was still in its infancy.

The “gas pump” charger houses two Tesla target chargers that can be charged with up to 16 kW, while there are two type 2 connections next to the red column, which, according to Plugshare, a website and app that helps EV drivers, Finding charging points are free.

It’s not the first time the retro charger has been discovered. When photos of the Tesla pillar (addendum before Type 2) were first published in the sical forum Reddit, they went viral, with the post now receiving positive reviews 15,000 times.

According to Evannex, who covered the story at the time, the charger was installed by Inside Scoop owner Tony Caciolo, who loves the 1950s era but is also passionate about the next generation of electric cars.

The little red retro charger isn’t the only way EV chargers are self-financing to integrate with old elements of the urban environment.

In the UK, tech giant Siemens and electric vehicle charging company ubitricity have converted every single lamppost on a Westminster street to be used as an electric vehicle charger.
