Moment men with machetes and metal pipes smash cars leaving one injured during brawl in ‘Lawless London’

  • Police are investigating a violent incident which took place in Whitechapel
  • A group of men armed with metal bars and machetes were on the street
  • Footage of Monday’s incident saw some of the men attacking a several cars
  • One man suffered a head injury although police said he declined medical help

Video shows the shocking moment a group of men armed with metal pipes and knives faced off during a late night brawl in east London.

The footage, shot by a witness who wishes to remain anonymous, shows several of the men hitting cars with their weapons during the frenzied attack Monday night.

A couple of cars were damaged while the drivers attempted to escape the scene.

Met Police have since launched an appeal for information and ask anyone who witnessed the violence to come forward.

One witness who spoke to MailOnline said: ‘So we were sitting in the living room watching TV and we heard some sort of commotion outside. I looked outside and there seemed to be some sort of stand off.

‘The men on the right were had weapons in their hands and shouting. I quickly pulled out my phone which is when it kicked off.

‘I do not believe there were any serious injuries. Just a few vehicle collisions whilst several men in cars were trying to escape.’

According to the Metropolitan Police, they were alerted to the incident on Brady Street, E1, around 10pm on Monday, December 5.

A spokesperson said: ‘It was reported that a group of males rammed the victim’s vehicle, before getting out and hitting the vehicle with machetes. They then chased the victim away from the scene.

‘Officers attended and found the victim, aged in his 20s, nearby suffering a head injury.

‘He declined medical assistance. No arrests have been made. Inquiries continue.
