It is no surprise that Romesh Ranganathan wants to meet in Crawley. After all, Britain’s most prolific comedian was born in Crawley and has chosen Crawley as the place to raise his three sons, aged 8, 11 and 13. Before he broke into show business, he was a maths teacher at the comprehensive school he had himself attended at Crawley. He met his wife, Leesa, a drama teacher, while working at that school in Crawley. His closest friends all live in or around Crawley. His autobiography was entitled Straight Outta Crawley. The main job he had outside teaching and show business, working as a cost analyst for an airline catering company, was at Gatwick, just six miles from Crawley.
